Terms of Service

These Terms of Service form an agreement between you and Metric. Please read them before you add the bot to a server or use any of its features.

The short version

  • Use Metric lawfully and in line with Discord's rules. Do not abuse, exploit or overload it.
  • Server administrators are responsible for how they configure Metric and for telling their members what is logged.
  • The Metric currency and points have no real-world value and can be adjusted or reset.
  • AI replies and religious content are for general information only. They can be wrong and are not professional advice or a fatwa.
  • Metric is provided as is, and our liability is limited as set out in Section 15.

1Acceptance of these terms

Metric is operated by Metric network ("we", "us" or "our"). By adding the Metric bot to a server, using its commands or features, or using this website (together, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you use Metric on behalf of a community, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these Terms for it.

2Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the minimum age to use Discord is higher where you live. You must also follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines at all times. Metric is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Discord Inc.

3The Service

Metric is a multi-purpose Discord bot. Its features include server logs and link protection, an AI chat assistant, a virtual-currency economy (Metric Bank) with an API for approved bots, Hadith, Quran and dhikr content and quizzes, a role shop, custom bot identity for Premium servers, and language settings. We may add, change or remove features at any time.

4Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break the law, or use Metric to break Discord's rules or the rules of a server;
  • harass, threaten, deceive or harm others, or use Metric to send spam or unwanted messages;
  • exploit bugs, bypass cooldowns, limits or captcha checks, or use multiple accounts or automation to farm rewards, points or currency;
  • interfere with the Service, overload it, or try to access data, systems or API keys that are not yours;
  • copy, reverse engineer, resell or misuse the Service or its content, except as the law allows;
  • use the AI assistant to produce unlawful, hateful, sexual or otherwise harmful content, or to impersonate others.

5Server owners and administrators

If you add Metric to a server or configure it, you are responsible for that server's use of Metric. In particular, you agree to:

  • configure Metric sensibly and grant it only the permissions it needs;
  • tell your members clearly if you enable logging, message tracking or link protection, and follow the privacy, monitoring and consumer laws that apply to your community;
  • take responsibility for the actions you configure Metric to take, such as deleting messages, timing out or kicking members;
  • choose channels for the AI assistant and other features that are suitable for your audience.

6Virtual currency and points

The Metric currency, Adhkar points and any ranks or balances in the Service are virtual items provided for entertainment within the bot. They:

  • have no monetary value and cannot be redeemed for cash, goods or services outside the Service;
  • are licensed to you, not owned by you, and cannot be sold, traded or exchanged for real money or anything of value outside the Service. Any attempt to do so is at your own risk and may lead to removal of the items and restriction of your access;
  • are subject to limits and cooldowns, for example on daily rewards, which we may change;
  • may be corrected, adjusted, frozen or reset by us if we find an error, abuse or a security issue, or if we change or end a feature.

Transfers between members are final. We are not responsible for losses caused by scams, mistakes or disputes between members, although we may, at our discretion, investigate and reverse a transaction.

7Role shop and purchases between members

The role shop is run by each server's administrators. When a member buys a role, the purchase is between that member and the server. Metric only provides tools to open a ticket, check a transfer and record the purchase. We do not process payments, we are not a party to the sale, and we are not responsible for pricing, delivery, refunds or disputes. Credits used in the shop may belong to a third-party bot, such as ProBot, and are governed by that bot's own terms.

8Bank API for approved bots

Access to the Bank API is granted only to approved bots and is subject to these rules:

  • Keep your API key secret. You are responsible for all activity that uses it.
  • Verify the member's consent, for example with a captcha or confirmation, before you request a transfer.
  • Stay within the rate limits and do not use the API to create currency or bypass the rules of the economy.
  • We may freeze or revoke access at any time, and we do not guarantee that the API will be available or unchanged.

9AI features and religious content

AI replies. Metric's AI assistant is powered by third-party AI models. Replies are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or inappropriate. They are not medical, legal, financial or other professional advice, and you should check anything important yourself. Do not share sensitive personal information with the assistant; the text you send is processed by third-party providers as described in the Privacy Policy.

Hadith, Quran and dhikr content. Hadith, Ayat, explanations, supplications and quiz questions are provided for general information and education. They come from third-party sources and our own selections, and may contain errors or omissions. They are not a fatwa or a religious ruling. For matters of religious practice or belief, please consult a qualified scholar.

10Premium features

Some features, currently a custom bot identity (avatar, banner, nickname and bio) in a single server, are available only to servers with Premium status. We grant and remove Premium status at our discretion, and we may change, replace or discontinue Premium features. If Premium involves a payment, its price and conditions are shown when you buy it. When Premium ends, custom identity settings may be reset. You must own or have permission to use any image you upload.

11Intellectual property

The Metric name, logo, website, code and original content belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to use the Service as these Terms allow. You keep ownership of the content you submit, and you give us permission to process it as needed to run the Service and to provide the features you use.

12Third-party services

The Service depends on services we do not control, including Discord, AI model providers and public content sources. We are not responsible for their availability, content or policies, and a change or outage on their side can affect Metric.

13Availability, changes and termination

We work to keep Metric running, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service. We may also restrict or end your access, remove Metric from a server, or delete related balances and data if you or your server break these Terms, abuse the Service or create risk for others. You can stop using Metric at any time, and administrators can remove it from their server.

14Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.

15Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Metric and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, virtual items, profits, goodwill or community, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

16Indemnity

You agree to defend and compensate Metric and its operators against claims, losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or the way you configure and use Metric in your server.

17Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change is significant, we will announce it on the support server or on this website. Using the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

18General

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If a part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a right, that does not mean we have given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may transfer ours as part of a sale or restructuring of Metric. Before starting a formal dispute, please contact us through the support server so we can try to resolve it informally.
